Would you believe me if I told you these Healthy Homemade Bagels are made with 6 simple ingredients in just 30 minutes? Well, it’s true. On top of that they’re whole grain, high in protein, perfectly chewy on the outside and tender on the inside. You can literally make these for breakfast that’s how quick and simple they are!
I’m obsessed with these bagels. There’s no yeast, rising or boiling required. Freshly baked bagels that come up together in your own kitchen and look just like store-bought. The dough can be made ahead and refrigerated as well. Are you ready??
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE HEALTHY HOMEMADE BAGELS:
greek yogurt
honey
baking soda + apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
everything bagel seasoning (I always use this one, but you can also make your own)
pink or sea salt
Don’t forget to finish them off with egg wash. It helps the toppings stick gives bagels such a beautiful shine! For the topping you can use anything like sesame seeds, poppy seeds, sea salt flakes or all time favorite bagel seasoning.
To be honest, even though I’m usually team waffles, pancakes and sweet toasts for breakfast, I could eat these bagels each morning and not get bored. The combination of cream cheese, avocado, flavorful smoked salmon, onion and greens on top of perfectly toasted is out of this world.
Too good.
