Blackened Salmon Tacos, topped with a citrus salsa on a gluten-free tortilla. They’re simple to make and come up together in under 25 minutes! Another great meal to add to your weeknight dinner rotation!
It’s been a while since I posted some tacos here on the blog. And I gotta say, tacos are one of my favorite foods. The combination of flavors in these salmon tacos is absolutely amazing. I could probably eat them every single day! Plus they’re made with such simple ingredients. The salmon is seasoned with different seasonings and seared on a pan. Then served on grain-free tortillas and topped with citrus salsa, cilantro and lime.
SALMON TACOS INGREDIENTS
Avocado oil – I love using avocado oil for cooking because of it’s high smoke point and subtle taste
Wild-caught salmon fillets
Seasonings – paprika, cumin, garlic, pink salt, black pepper
Citrus salsa – blood oranges, avocado, cilantro, lime
Tortillas – I love these cassava, coconut flour paleo tortillas
HOW TO MAKE THESE EASY FISH TACOS
-
Season the salmon. Stir all the spices, salt and pepper together. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Then rub the seasoning into salmon fillets.
-
Cook the salmon. You could either roast, grill or sear. My favorite and quickest way to cook salmon is to pan sear it. Check out the details below!
-
While the salmon is cooking, prepare the salsa. Toss all the ingredients with lime juice, salt and pepper.
-
Assemble the tacos. Shred the salmon in pieces and add to warm tortillas. Top with citrus salsa, cilantro and serve with lime wedges.
HOW TO PAN SEAR SALMON
-
Heat avocado oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
-
Add the salmon (opposite of skin side) down and cook for about 3-5 minutes (depending on how thick the piece is).
-
While the salmon is cooking, use a spoon to baste it with the oil that collects at the bottom of the pan.
-
Flip and sear the other side until the outside is crispy for an additional 3 minutes or so.
