Spicy Harissa Pasta with Cherry Tomatoes ready on your dinner table in a matter of minutes! With only a few simple ingredients you have creamy, sweet, bursty and perfectly spicy pasta dish that you and your close ones will love.
Hands down this is my favorite dinner recipe of the month. This spicy and creamy harissa spaghetti is packed with so much incredible flavor. It’s such an easy and healthy vegetarian pasta dish that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner. Basically all my favorite things combined in one! Pasta, cherry tomatoes, fresh herbs and my new favorite thing – harissa paste.
WHAT IS A HARISSA PASTE?
Harissa is a red chile paste that’s slightly sweet, smoky, tangy in taste and perfectly spicy. It’s usually made of a just few simple ingredients such as chiles, garlic, olive oil, citrus and spices.
HARISSA PASTA INGREDIENTS
The pasta recipe couldn’t get easier and more delicious than this one. All you need is a few simple ingredients:
Long noodles
Extra virgin olive oil
Onion and garlic
Cherry tomatoes
Harissa paste – I love using Trader Joe’s harissa as well as this brand.
Fresh herb such as parsley or basil
HOW TO MAKE PASTA WITH HARISSA
First, cook the noodles according to directions on the package and save ¼ cup of pasta water.
Meanwhile, saute onion on a heated pan with olive oil. Add garlic, harissa paste, cherry tomatoes and 2 tablespoons of reserved pasta water. Cook until the tomatoes begin to pop.
Add cooked pasta and parsley. Add more reserved pasta water if needed. Season with salt, pepper and garnish with fresh parsley if desired!
