Description

French toast is one of the classic favorite weekend breakfasts. It’s super simple and quick to make. And now with just a few simple swaps you can make the best healthy whole wheat french toast ever!


Ingredients

1 tbsp butter or coconut oil

4 slices of whole grain bread

2 eggs (pasture-raised if possible)

1/2 cup plant based milk

3 tbsp maple syrup

1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

1/2 tsp cinnamon

pinch of salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat a large pan with butter.

  2. In a large plate or shallow bowl whisk up all the ingredients except the bread.

  3. Dip bread slices into the egg mixture on both sides. Transfer bread to preheated skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides.

  4. Serve warm with fruits and maple syrup!
