WHAT DOES CAPRESE MEAN?
A Caprese is a traditional Italian entree or appetizer salad made with tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil and olive oil.
TOMATO BASIL MOZZARELLA GRILLED CHEESE
There’s something about a melted fresh mozzarella cheese and warmed tomatoes on a bread. I think it reminds me of pizza that’s why I love it so much! This combo is so delicious and it makes the easiest and quickest lunch or dinner!
HOW TO MAKE CAPRESE GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH
INGREDIENTS
slices of bread – you can use any bread you like! whole grain, sourdough or gluten-free work perfect here! You can also use frozen bread, just defrost single slices in a toaster beforehand
sliced tomatoes
fresh mozzarella cheese
basil leaves
extra virgin olive oil to drizzle a pan
sea salt flakes & black pepper
HOW TO MAKE FRESH MOZZARELLA GRILLED CHEESE
First layer tomato slices, basil leaves and mozzarella on a slice of bread. Season with salt and pepper. Cover with another slice. Preheat a small skillet with a drizzle of olive oil over low heat. Place sandwiches on a pan and cook until golden brown and until cheese is melted, flipping halfway through.

4 slices of bread – I used this gluten-free bread
2 roma tomatoes, sliced
4 fresh mozzarella slices
basil leaves
sea salt flakes & black pepper
extra virgin olive oil for the pan
Instructions
Layer tomato slices, basil leaves and mozzarella on a slice of bread. Season with salt and pepper. Cover with another slice.
