Description

This Grilled Harissa Shrimp recipe is quick, easy to make and perfect for summer al fresco dinners! Shrimp are marinated and grilled to a perfection. Harissa paste gives the shrimp smoky, tangy and a little spicy flavor. Serve them over rice, salad with pasta or tacos! PossibilitIes are endless.


Ingredients

1 lb wild shrimp, unshelled

1/4 cup harissa paste

juice of 1 small lemon

salt, black pepper

cilantro for garnish


Instructions

  1. Place shrimp in a medium bowl, add harissa paste, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Cover with a plastic wrap and let it marinate on a countertop for 15 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile soak the wooden skewers. You can skip this step if using a grill pan instead of outdoor grill.
  3. Preheat outdoor grill to a medium high heat. Thread shrimp on skewers and grill for 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp from skewers, garnish with chopped cilantro and serve. If using a grill pan, make sure you preheat it until very hot. Also use an oil with high smoke point such as avocado oil. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side.
